On average, an electric water heater operates for 1.0 h each day. It has a power requirement of 4500 W and a current requirement of 37.5 A when wired to a 240 V household supply.
If the cost of electricity is {content}.25/kWh, what is the cost of operating the heater during a 30-day month?

There is some confusion because (240 V) • (37.5 A) = 9000 W
unless there is a power factor of 0.5 which I do not believe is the case).
I’ll assume that the 4500 W number is right. If it is 9000 W just multiply
my answer by 2.
(4500 W) • (1 H ⁄ day) • (30 days) • (1 KW ⁄ 1000 W) = 135 KWH
(135 KWH) • (0.25 $ ⁄ KWH) = $33.75
