Our water tank heater has stopped working for a few weeks now. It seems the flame has gone out. We tried reigniting the light but it doesn’t seem to work. When we called PG&E to check it out, they said that we needed a new piezo ignitor. After finally getting a hold of one and replacing it, nothing else happened. It doesn’t seem to make a spark. Any troubleshoot ideas before we have to contact a professional (which will be costly obviously)? Anyone experience the same?

Thanks in advance.

The remote sensing bulb on the T-stat is much more functional than on commercial.
propagation mats, they’re sturdy and of course they’re also safe to use around water.

My husband is currently working at a bakery. They have a standard commercial 3-bend sink. They also have an old dishwasher that can wash 8 (48×60) pan at a 3-5 minute interval. The supervisor requires him to wash these pans BY HAND in this 3-bend sink. Manually, he washes 300-400 pan per day using degreaser, bleach & dish soap. Mind you this is a bakery that has a 20 gallon water heater. When the water from the pan-washing gets cold, he often times bale water from one area of this bakery to the 3-bend. due to the chemicals, his fingers on both hands are infected around the cuticles. He often complains of the tips of his fingers feeling numb. His nails looks dark, scribbled and brittle. The supv gave him a pair of rubber gloves that came to his elbow. That made it worse. Extreme pain to grip/grab things as he used to. He works FT plus OT & pychk never reflects(40/wk plus). There’s no group health insurance or benefits available. Income is needed. How do we pursue this lawsuit?Help!!!!

Single mom needs your help! Estimate 0, to replace existing lp water heater with natural gas one and connect to furnace and water heater. I heard there are conversion kits? If not, can I buy a natural gas water heater on my own for less, his charge is 0, uninstalled. Please advise. Anything may help. I really hope I can convert my current water heater. It’s only 6 years old.
I was told it was not convertible! The book said that the 40, 50 & 60 gallon heaters were convertible. He said he didn’t think so. Do you think he is trying to rip me off? Should I get another estimate? He said it would be 0 to hook up water heater and furnace if the water heater was convertable.
Im converting because this is a mobile home used as a cabin in the north woods. Five years ago when I was working I paid 0 to have the gasline brought from the road to the place. I am now getting the connection done because Wisconsin Public Service is now offering a 0 rebate to anyone who converts. I was told natural gas is a better choice in the long run. Plus it’s used very sparingly. A few winter weekends snomobiling… Am I doing the right thing. (Cory if you read this, please respond, I appreciate your knowledge)

Our current water heater is not quite sufficient for my husband & me, and is nearing the end of it’s life. We became interested in a "tankless" (on-demand) water heating system – which heats water only when you turn the hot water spiggot on. Our primary concern at this point, if it saves as much and can work as well as is advertised (I know – don’t believe advertisements, at least not completely), is the initial cost of one. Supposedly, it will pay for itself within the first year or so of use & the savings in utilities… I was wanting to know what other people’s personal experiences with these systems are…
So I was wondering if you have one, how do you like it?
Is it efficient for your uses?
Have you noticed a significant difference (for the better, I hope) in your utility bills since it’s installation?
What brand system are you using?
Has it paid for itself in the long-run for you personally?
Any personal experiences with this ‘on-demand’ or ‘tankless’ water heating system would be greatly appreciated!

The plumber that is replacing my tank realized that the previous set-up was wrong and the hot & cold pipes were hooked up incorrectly. I am just wondering if anyone would know how this would impact my bill. I had an electric water heater and Im on a time of day (on-peak/off-peak) rate with a timer.
