I have been looking into brands of Gas tank-less water heater that are condensing, But still unsure of what brand to buy. Looking at the Japanese Brands that are big over hear, Rinnai, Noritz, Navien, or takagi, I will probably get two and link them, even if small house. I want to be able to run shower, dishwasher, sink, steam washer and steam dryer at same time. Anyone know what brand would be really good, I’m looking for warranty with excellent quality for long time 15+ years.
I’m also considering the water issues in the area and probably have to have a whole house water filter system installed as well as hot water filters on tank-less heaters.
I Plan to use Two Tank-less water heaters linked together for my demand.

I live in a trailer in a cold climate and my propane bill is horribly high as the heater is always running (gas) to keep water hot. The water heater is on an outside wall which has to be the stupidest design going. thank you . I know one name for the heater I mean is Rinnai…. some one else told me they now have less expensive ones that work the same way. thank you for any opinions or answers.

I have a new water heater and it leaks a little bit when the water reheats. usually occurs when I am doing laundry. the water leaks on the concrete slab from a copper pipe. I would say about 6 oz.

the company said that is due to thermal expansion and that I need an expansion tank.

question: do I really need this? what happens if I don’t put it in? can I just leave as is?
appreciate all the responses. most of them seemed more like opinions than based on fact.

yes I called the water heater company and they said the expansion tank is recommended. the city says it is not required and the excess water (runs from a copper pipe) can be drained to the concrete slab in the garage per code.

so my question remains should I add the expansion tank? If I don’t then it puts increased stress on the tank but what does that mean? does that mean I may get half the life usage? the expansion tank is going to cost about 0 to install the whole water heater only cost me 0 installed

I’m looking to install a gas tank-less water heater and am looking at the Bosch Therm C 1050 ES which is a condensing model that vents with PVC. Now, everything I’ve read says that you can’t just dump the gasses into the chimney because it will corrode the chimney and such, but that I can use the chimney as a pipe chase to run the PVC vent through. However, our older, less efficient gas air heater exhausts into the chimney as well and my concern is that the exhaust is above the melting point of the PVC (Schedule-40 PVC melts at aprox. 386* F) and our investment would be lost. I know that you can run exhaust vents horizontally, but because of all of the other restrictions around what you can’t exhaust near, that is not an option.

Any thoughts?? I am running out of ideas here and am about to give up on the tank-less thing.
