Who makes the best tankless water heater?

by Water Heaters on July 23, 2010

I’ve done numerous searches on tanless water heaters. http://www.thebesttanklesswaterheater.net/ says Navien is the best. Others say Rinnai. Hm. Depot carries Rheem.

We have sold and installed 3 major brands and the Navien has performed very well and now is the only brand we offer. One thing that is really nice on the Navien is that it has a model with an on board re-circulation pump, avoiding the need to add one later.

I prefer Takagi and Noritz, since these have a good long history behind them.

There’s some info on the TWH’s here you might find useful:

I would say Noritz, Rinnai, Paloma and Rheem, Bosch…
Don’t be afraid to search more reviews about tankless water heaters, like this one for example
http://www.hot-water-heaters-reviews.com/tankless-water-heaters.html.
Everybody has their favorite one, but it depends how much money you want to spend, or features you are looking for.

You are looking for the best one, but keep in mind that the above ones are still offering great warranty and at least 15 years heater life.

Look for the Energy star models, what is the energy factor, EF, does it offer tools for diagnostic and troubleshooting (high technology)…

Try Noritz, expensive but great.
