Will a tankless water heater work for my family?

by Water Heaters on May 19, 2010

I have a large family 4 of us there full time and 2 stepkids w/ friends over every weekend and I have read that the more people you have in your home the less one of these tankless water heaters will work for you. Is there a special size I should look into getting or stay with a standard tank water heater? Also does anyone know how much money it will save me our house is 100% electric.

A Tank-less Hot Water heater will save you
Thousands of Wasted energy Dollars…

As it only comes on when you need Hot water…
it isn’t reheating the same water over and over
and over again as in a Standard Hot Water Tank…

They make them big enough to run two showers,
a dishwasher, and wash clothes at the same time.

I have a TAKAGI Flash T-H1 which has a 95%
efficiency rating…The more efficient the more you save.
I look at like this…if it is 80% Efficient that means you
are wasting $00.20 out every energy dollar…

(I also use mine for Hydronic floor Heating…)
(Have had mine 3 years with NO Problems…)

Your savings would not be as much as mine
as I have Natural GAS…but it will be substantial…

Not only will a tankless water heater work, but it will work better, and save you money. It all depends on how you size it. A friend of mine has 3 children, himself and his wife. they have a tankless hot water heater that was sized in such a way that all 3 of his showers can be on, the clothes washer, dishwasher, and kitchen sink all at at the same time, and never run out of hot water. The nice thing is, is that since there is no tank, it only runs while you use hot water, that’s it.

I purchased a top of the line Palomo Tankless NG Heater to replace our Polaris NG heater. Big mistake, the tankless heater cost almost double the polaris heater for NG, and by law they are limited to 120 degrees, so you must have the tankless heater near the bath / kitchen or the water looses it’s heat on the way.

And before you say insulate the pipes, they are insulated.
